Fury is a 2014 American war film set during World War II written and directed by David Ayer. The film stars Brad Pitt, Shia LaBeouf, Logan Lerman, Jon Bernthal, Michael Peña, Jason Isaacs, and Scott Eastwood.

Rehearsing for the film began in early September 2013 in Hertfordshire, England, followed by principal photography began on September 30, 2013, in Oxfordshire. Continuing filming for a month and half at different locations including Oxford, shooting for the film concluded on November 15. The film was released on October 17, 2014.

The film is set during the last month of the European Theater of war during World War II in April 1945. As the Allies make their final push into Nazi Germany, a battle-hardened U.S. Army sergeant in the 2nd Armored Division named Don "Wardaddy" Collier (Brad Pitt) commands an M4A3E8 Sherman tank called "Fury" and its five-man crew, consisting of Boyd "Bible" Swan (Shia LeBeouf), Grady "Coon-Ass" Travis (Jon Bernthal) and Trini "Gordo" Garcia (Michael Peña). After losing the assistant driver in battle, he gets a recently enlisted typist, Norman Ellison (Logan Lerman), as a replacement.

The crew, which has been together since the North African Campaign, initially despises Norman for his lack of experience and excessive compassion towards Germans (Norman refuses to shoot a captive German artilleryman, and cannot bring himself to shoot at Hitlerjugend teenagers because of their age), so Wardaddy makes Norman shoot a captive German soldier to break him of his innocence.

The bond between Norman and Wardaddy becomes stronger after capturing a small German town, where Wardaddy and Norman meet a German woman named Emma and her cousin. Norman sleeps with Emma, then joins Wardaddy and Emma's cousin for breakfast. However, the rest of the crew barge in and cause tensions while at the table. Shortly afterwards, a German bombardment hits the town, killing Emma and some of the American forces.

The platoon of tanks, led by Wardaddy, gets a mission to hold a vital crossing (protecting a clear way to supply trains), but after encountering a German Tiger I, only "Fury" remains. The vehicle is immobilized after hitting a landmine; shortly afterwards, a German column of three hundred Schutzstaffel (SS) infantry approaches. Wardaddy refuses to leave, and the rest of the crew, initially reluctant, decides to stay and plan an ambush.

Outnumbered and outgunned, Wardaddy and his men nevertheless inflict heavy losses on the Germans, but eventually Grady, Bible, and Gordo are all killed, and Wardaddy is wounded by a sniper. Norman and Wardaddy retreat back into "Fury" where they share their last words. Norman escapes through the bottom hatch of the tank and hides in the crater made by the landmine explosion, while Wardaddy stays behind and is killed by a grenade blast. A young German SS trooper finds Norman, but does not turn him in, leaving the assistant driver hidden safely beneath the destroyed tank as the surviving German soldiers move on.

The next morning, the U.S. Army discovers Norman, and it is revealed that the German offensive failed because of the crew's actions. Norman is taken off to safety while he looks back at the carnage of dead German SS troops and the destroyed "Fury".

Dracula Untold is a 2014 dark fantasy action-horror film directed by Gary Shore in his feature film debut and written by Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless.[4] Rather than focus on Irish novelist Bram Stoker's 1897 novel Dracula, the film creates an origin story for its title character, Count Dracula, by portraying the story of Vlad the Impaler, of whom Stoker was unaware until he was well into writing that novel. Luke Evans portrays the title character, with Sarah Gadon and Dominic Cooper in supporting roles.

Principal photography began on August 5, 2013 in Northern Ireland. Universal Pictures released the film on October 10, 2014 in theatres and IMAX. Universal intends the film to be a reboot of the Universal Monsters franchises

In an opening montage the son of Vlad the Impaler recounts the history surrounding the legendary character known as Dracula, and how the stories tell of a monster. Seeking to dispel the legend, Vlad the Impaler's son recounts the events around which the one known as Dracula came to be.

In the middle ages the Sultan of Turkey sought to acquire and train boys in order to turn them into perfect soldiers who would hold no moral or ethical obligations. One such boy was Vlad, who became known as "the impaler" after his use of wooden stakes to display those whom he killed as a form of psychological warfare. Ultimately, Vlad was able to escape from his duty as a soldier, and was made the prince of Transylvania, a tribute territory to the Turkish Empire. While on a scouting mission in the woods Vlad and his team discover a Turkish helmet, and deduce that a scouting party of Turks have entered Transylvania territory. In their search for the party, Vlad and his men enter a cave in the mountains and encounter an ancient sorcerer and master vampire, who subsequently kills Vlad's men, and drives Vlad out of his lair.

The following day, as Vlad and his subjects celebrate Easter, the Turkish party arrives unexpected. Anticipating that they have come for the tribute, Vlad offers the party silver coins, but the envoy demands that 1,000 boys be given over for service in the Turkish army. Vlad turns down the request, but lacks an effective armed force to compel the Turks to leave Transylvania in peace. After a failed attempt at diplomacy with the Turkish Sultan, Vlad skirmishes with a Turkish party that arrived to take his son for service in Turkish army. Realizing that he will need more power in order to defend his territory and his people, Vlad seeks out the vampire's cave and explains that he has need of the vampire's power. After listening to his story and cautioning him about the risks, the vampire offers Vlad some of his blood, which infuses Vlad with the powers of the night. The vampire explains that this power will last for three days, during which time Vlad will be tempted to drink human blood, but if he can withstand the urge for all three days he will be restored to his human form, also warning Vlad that he will be released from his prison if Vlad accepts his curse.

Upon his return from the cave Vlad observes a Turkish siege of Castle Dracula, and single-handedly takes on the besieging force, killing them all. Determined to protect his people at all costs, Vlad instructs the party to fall back to a mountain monastery whose geography will hinder any Turkish attempt to take the facility. It is here that Vlad meets Shkelgim, who dubs himself Vlad's servant and gives him blood, only for Vlad to show hostility and refuse the offer. During the second night, the Transylvanian party is ambushed by Turkish forces, and Vlad and his men engage them. Although victorious in the engagement Vlad's powers begin to attract attention from his closest advisers. The next day at the monastery, as Vlad attempts to rally his people ahead of the battle, his use of the demonic powers is exposed and the citizens at the monastery subsequently turn on Vlad, attempting to burn him to death in a tent. Angered over this perceived betrayal, Vlad- escaping the tent as the smoke created by the fire blocks out the sun- chastises his people before taking his leave.

That night, a massive Turkish force marches on the monastery. Vlad employs bats to defend the territory, however the incoming Turkish army turns out to be a decoy force deployed to allow a handful of Turks to infiltrate the monastery and kill the citizens within. Mirena's attempt to defend her son from the Turks fails, and she ultimately falls to her death despite Vlad's attempt to save her. Angered over the loss of his wife, Vlad embraces the darkness within himself and honors Mirena's last request to drink her blood to give him the strength to save their son before his time as a vampire expires. Returning to the monastery to find a handful of survivors, Vlad offers each the chance for vengeance, and gives them his blood to drink.

At the primary Turkish Army camp the Sultan and his men are preparing for a massive invasion of Europe when Vlad and his small band of vampires arrive. A battle erupts between the two forces, however Vlad's vampires are vastly superior to the Turkish soldiers, and the battle degenerates into a massacre. While the vampires take their vengeance on the Turkish forces Vlad seeks out the Sultan, who has taken his son captive. Aware of the vampire's weakness to silver, the Sultan has lined the floors of his tent with silver coins, and engages in a battle with Vlad using a silver sword. Ultimately, despite his use of silver to weaken Vlad and a wooden stake to try and impale his heart, the Sultan's attempt to kill Vlad fails, with Vlad turning briefly into a flock of bats to escape his assault and then drink his blood.

With his enemy vanquished, Vlad and his son emerge from the Sultan's tent, whereupon they are surrounded by the other vampires Vlad brought. Vlad's vampires demand to drink the child's blood, arguing that the child does not matter now that Vlad is prince to the vampires, but they are stopped by the unexpected presence of a Monk, who keeps the vampires at bay with a Christian cross. After consoling his son, Vlad instructs the monk to take him away, then uses his power to clear the cloud coverage. The absence of the clouds results in the death of the vampires as they are unable to withstand the effects of direct sun contact.

In the aftermath of the battle, Vlad is presumed dead and the Turkish army defeated, leaving Europe safe from invasion and occupation. Vlad's son is crowned the new prince of Transylvania, and the name Dracula is passed down to future generations as a legend. Finding him in his near death state, Shkelgim finds and revives Vlad, who then remains out of the public eye.

In the present day, a woman named Mina who strikingly resembles Mirena is approached by a man who complements her flowers and recites her favorite piece of poetry, seemingly by coincidence. The man introduces himself as "Vlad", and the two depart together. Unbeknownst to him, Caligula has also survived the centuries of time and proceeds to follow them, reciting the very words that he said to Vlad prior to turning him into a vampire: "Let the games begin."

On the day of his fifth wedding anniversary, Nick Dunne (Affleck) returns home to find that his wife Amy (Pike) is missing. Her disappearance creates a media frenzy, and his awkward behavior and lies surrounding the marriage are interpreted by the media and public as characteristics of a sociopath, implicating him for her apparent murder. Flashback sequences told from Amy's perspective reveal the disintegration of their once-happy marriage: They both lose their jobs during the recession, and Amy has to move away from her beloved New York City home to stay in Nick's hometown of North Carthage, Missouri when his mother is diagnosed with cancer. Nick, meanwhile, has become lazy, distant, and unfaithful to Amy. Detective Rhonda Boney (Dickens) finds that Nick knows surprisingly little about his wife's day-to-day life, including that she is pregnant. She also uncovers evidence indicating financial troubles and domestic disputes, as well as a report indicating Amy wanted to purchase a gun. As this evidence mounts against him, Nick becomes the prime suspect.

Amy is revealed to be alive and to have staged her murder to frame Nick as revenge for his infidelity. Her diary also incriminates him. Hastily mopped-up blood on the floor, traces of blood splatter in the surrounding area, and a crushed coffee table all were arranged by Amy on the day of her disappearance to suggest that Nick killed her during a struggle. Amy also befriended a pregnant neighbor, Noelle Hawthorne, and stole her urine in order to fake her own pregnancy. Hiding at a distant motel under the guise of 'Nancy', Amy has changed her appearance to start anew, believing Nick will get the death penalty for killing her.

Just as it appears that her plan has succeeded, Amy is robbed in her motel room, losing the thousands of dollars in cash she intended to use to start a new life. Left with only her car and no place to stay, she frantically calls her wealthy ex-boyfriend, Desi Collings (Harris), against whom she filed a restraining order years before. Amy convinces Desi that she ran from Nick because she feared for her life. Desi believes he has finally won her heart and agrees to hide Amy in his luxury lake house.

Nick finds evidence of Amy's plot against him and convinces his twin sister Margo (Coon) of his innocence. As the media continues to antagonize Nick, the siblings hire a defense attorney, Tanner Bolt (Perry), who specializes in defending husbands accused of killing their wives, to improve Nick's public perception. After Nick's ex-student and mistress, Andie (Ratajkowski), reveals their year-long affair at a press conference, Nick appears on a talk show to tell his side of the story. He apologizes for his failures as a husband and claims that all he wants is for Amy to come home. His story is convincing enough to turn around the public's perception and rekindle Amy's feelings for him.

Amy plans her escape, taking advantage of the security cameras to act as if Desi had raped her, as well as penetrating herself with a wine bottle to simulate forced entry. The next day, Amy seduces Desi and slices his throat with a box cutter during sex. She returns home covered in blood, in view of the television crews parked outside, and tells the press that Desi kidnapped and raped her, clearing Nick of all wrongdoing. Tanner can no longer help Nick, and while Boney finds the circumstances suspicious, Amy's story arouses enough sympathy that the police believe the case is settled.

After stripping Nick naked and talking in the shower to avoid bugging devices, Amy admits to the murder and her reasons for her return. She tells Nick that the man she watched pleading for her return was the man she married and that she wants him to be that person again. Nick intends to leave her, and expose her lies.

Before a television interview Amy reveals she is pregnant, having used sperm Nick stored at a fertility clinic. Nick reacts violently, slamming her against the wall, but he feels responsible for the child. Despite the objections of his sister, Nick decides to stay with Amy, and they announce on television that they are expecting a baby together.

Themistocles later reunites with his old friend Scyllas (Callan Mulvey), who infiltrated the Persian troops and learned Artemisia was born Greek, but defected to Persia after Greek soldiers killed her parents and raped her when she was a child. She earned her place as a naval commander by brutally killing several of Darius' enemies.

Experienced CIA agent Ethan Renner (Kevin Costner) works with a team to capture The Albino (Tómas Lemarquis), lieutennant to an arms trafficker called The Wolf (Richard Sammel), as he is selling a dirty bomb to some terrorists. The Albino catches wise to the trap when he recognizes one of the agents, whom he kills. Renner is able to cripple The Albino by shooting him in the leg, but not capture him. Meanwhile, elite CIA assassin Vivi Delay (Amber Heard), who has been personally assigned by the Director (Raymond J. Barry) to kill The Wolf, monitors the operation, and notices Renner has unknowingly seen The Wolf.

Renner is nearly disabled by an extreme cough, which is diagnosed as terminal brain cancer which has spread to his lungs. He is given only a few months to live, and will not see the next Christmas. For decades he has kept his dangerous career a carefully guarded secret from his wife Christine (Connie Nielsen) and daughter Zoey (Hailee Steinfeld), at the cost of losing them. He decides to spend his remaining time trying to fix his relationship with his estranged daughter, and if possible, his ex-wife. He returns to Paris, where he and his family live separately, to find the African family of Jules (Eriq Ebouaney) is squatting in his apartment. He is told by the government that he is not permitted to evict indigent squatters until after the winter.

In 62 AD Britannia, a tribe of Celtic horsemen are brutally wiped out by Romans led by Corvus (Kiefer Sutherland). The only survivor is a boy named Milo (Dylan Schombing) whose mother Corvus personally killed. The boy is captured by slave traders. Seventeen years later, a slave owner named Graecus (Joe Pingue) watches a class of gladiators battle. He is unimpressed until he sees the grown Milo (Kit Harington), a talented gladiator the crowds call "the Celt." Milo is soon brought to Pompeii with his fellow slaves. On the road, they see a horse fall while leading a carriage carrying Cassia (Emily Browning) and her servant Ariadne (Jessica Lucas). Milo kills the horse to end its suffering and Cassia is drawn to him. Cassia is the daughter of the city ruler Severus (Jared Harris) and his wife Aurelia (Carrie-Anne Moss), happy to have her back after a year in Rome. Severus is hoping to have the new Emperor Titus invest in plans to rebuild Pompeii but Cassia warns him of Rome becoming more corrupt. A servant named Felix (Dalmar Abuzeid) takes Cassia’s horse for a ride only to be swallowed up when a quake from Mount Vesuvius opens up the Earth under him.

The movie opens with a scene from a high school graduation, class of 2014. Jade Butterfield (Gabriella Wilde), a shy but beautiful young woman, is graduating and will be attending Brown University in the fall. She stands alone after the ceremony, while everyone else laughs with friends and takes pictures together. Jade quietly rejoins her parents while reminiscing about her brother, Chris, who passed away from cancer. David Elliot (Alex Pettyfer) observes her from a distance. He has had a crush on her throughout all of high school, but never mustered the courage to speak to her.

Jade, her parents Hugh and Anne, and her brother Keith (Rhys Wakefield) stop at an upscale restaurant for lunch after the graduation. While exiting the car, Jade bumps into David, who works as a valet at the restaurant. David mentions how they were classmates and she asks him to sign her yearbook before going inside. Inside the restaurant, Hugh (Bruce Greenwood), who is a medical doctor, asks her what she would like as a graduation present. Jade asks for a party since she's never had the chance to socialize with her peers before. Her mother, Anne (Joely Richardson) thinks it’s a wonderful idea and while her father thinks it’s a rather odd request, agrees. On the way out of the restaurant, Jade invites David to her party. She and her family also observe David getting into a physical altercation with a snobby client who insults him. He punches him and, as a result, gets fired on the spot.

But Peter decides to leave Pearly's gang and the only life he’s known. Pearly is infuriated and has his gang hunt down Peter. But, suddenly Peter is rescued by a mysterious white horse that becomes his guardian angel. Although Peter hopes to move to Florida and come back in the summer, the horse encourages him to steal from one last mansion. The mansion is the home of Beverly Penn, a young woman dying from tuberculosis. While her publisher father Isaac and younger sister Willa go out, she takes a cold bath and goes downstairs to play the piano while Peter is trying to unlock the safe. Peter discovers Beverly and she makes him a cup of tea. They explain to each other about their stories and immediately fall in love.

However, Frank Stokes (George Clooney) persuades the US President that victory will have little meaning if the art treasures of Western civilization are lost in the fighting, either as collateral damage in combat or looted. To minimize that threat, Stokes is directed to assemble an Army unit nicknamed the "Monuments Men" comprising seven museum directors, curators, and art historians to both guide Allied units and search for stolen art to return it to the rightful owners.

In occupied France, Claire Simone (Cate Blanchett), a curator in Paris, is forced to allow Nazi officers like Viktor Stahl to oversee the theft of art for either Adolf Hitler's proposed Führermuseum in Linz, or as the personal property of senior commanders like Herman Goering. While she is nearly arrested for helping her Maquis brother unsuccessfully recapture such items, all seems lost when she discovers that Stahl is taking all of her gallery's contents to Germany as the Allies approach Paris. When she runs to the railyard to confront Stahl, he fires on her with his pistol; although she does not seek cover, she is not hit, but can only watch helplessly as Stahl escapes with the stolen artwork.

Lone Survivor is a 2013 American war film written and directed by Peter Berg, and starring Mark Wahlberg, Taylor Kitsch, Emile Hirsch, Ben Foster and Eric Bana. It is based on the 2007 nonfiction book of the same name by Marcus Luttrell and Patrick Robinson. Set during the War in Afghanistan, the film dramatizes the failed United States Navy SEALs mission Operation Red Wings, in which a four-man SEAL reconnaissance and surveillance team was tasked to track Taliban leader Ahmad Shah.

Development of the film began in 2007 after Berg first learned of the book while filming Hancock. He arranged several meetings with Luttrell to discuss adapting the book to film. Universal Pictures secured the film rights in August 2007, after bidding against other major film studios. In re-enacting the events of Operation Red Wings, Berg drew much of his screenplay from Luttrell's eyewitness accounts in the book, as well as autopsy and incident reports related to the mission. After directing Battleship for Universal in 2012, Berg returned to work on Lone Survivor. Principal photography began in October 2012, and concluded in November after 42 days; filming took place on location in New Mexico, using digital cinematography. Luttrell and several other Navy SEAL veterans acted as technical advisors, while multiple branches of the United States Armed Forces aided the film's production. In addition, the main actors had three weeks of military training beforehand to prepare for the physical demands of their roles.

Lone Survivor opened in limited release in the United States on December 25, 2013, before opening across North America on January 10, 2014, to critical acclaim and strong financial success. Critical reaction to the film was mostly positive, with commentators praising Berg's direction, as well as the acting, story, visuals, and battle sequences. Other reviewers, however, derided the film for focusing more on its action scenes than on characterization. Lone Survivor has grossed $77.8 million in box-office revenue worldwide – of which $74 million is from North America – and received two Academy Award nominations for Best Sound Editing and Best Sound Mixing.
